Traditional Curriculum
Students love rotating stations. Every day is a new day to learn something different. We are excited to use Chickadees Home Preschool Curriculum. It’s much like the one used by Milwaukee Public Schools. We follow their Common Core State Standards.
Montessori curriculum
Much like our traditional lesson plan, we offer a rich and fulfilling Montessori teacher lead program. Here is a full list of preprimary lesson trackers that our teachers use to take notes and record data that your child has mastered. Take a look at what our Montessori curriculum looks like.
Children learn in different ways. What’s your child’s learning style? For those that are new to what Montessori teaching is, here’s a quick overview: Montessori is designed to give kids a hands-on learning experience with collaborative play. Students are self-directed to engage in a number of activities at their own pace. The teacher gives the whole class a lesson, after instruction is given, the children are left on their own to do the activity. The classroom is child-centered. Once you enter a Montessori classroom, you will notice children working individually, on the floor, sitting at a table, or walking around offering real items to taste. It’s a unique environment with multiple engaging activities that your child will love.
Biblical Curriculum
In this modern-day society, children see and hear many things. Some good and some bad. Our biblical teachings instill moral behavior, build character, and create a loving environment, and are centered around Christ. What does that mean for your child? Our rich curriculum is filled with stories from the bible. From (A) Adam to (Z) Zabdi. We use the slogan “train a child in the way that they should go” for a reason. We believe that children are the future and we need to instill spiritual knowledge in them so that they are equipped to face the world ahead of them.
Special Education and Sensory Integration
We welcome children with special needs into our program because we know that every child is different and that every child deserves to feel loved in a loving environment. Our trained professionals are skilled and ready to embrace your child with open arms. Children with special needs sometimes need a little extra special attention to self-regulate or the use of calming stimulations. The “dinosaur” room is a sensory room used to calm students that start to feel over stimulated, anxious, tired, or frustrated. Each station has a special activity designed specifically for a specific need.
Social Emotional Learning
What is Social Emotional Learning (SEL)? It’s a place where little ones can feel safe when expressing their feelings. The fundamentals of SEL are self-awareness, self-managemnet, social awareness, relationship skills, and responsible decision making. According to CASEL, these five fundamentals makes up SEL with a combination of our community, family & caregivers, schools, and classrooms. We use a variety of strategies to address social emotional patterns, habits, or learned behaviors and create an atmosphere that surrounds the child with love. Each day the students arrive, there’s a mirror at the door where they stand in front of and speak words of affirmations about themselves before they start their day. This helps set the tone for the day. We believe in uplifting each other. We pride ourselves in practicing empathy and kindness.
Reading
Reading, is not only fundamental but it is the foundation of your child’s success. We take reading seriously. We have trained staff ready to assess each student’s reading ability. If interventions are needed they will catch it early on so that no child is left behind.

Assessments are given frequently to ensure children are meeting their target marks according to age. The Department of Public Instruction has provided an explanation of its standards,
Writing
Children will get a kick out of learning how to write with our unique writing styles. Letter formation is one tool used to identify your child’s writing style. Students can write letters in the air, and use shaving cream, sand, sticks, or by fingerpainting. However your child’s writing style, we have it covered.

For those that struggle with fine motor skills, we have adaptive special devices to assist with writing. Learning how to write their names is the first step. Children who practice reading and writing in the early stages are more likely to succeed in kindergarten. The goal is to get preschoolers kindergarten ready.
By practicing these special techniques, your child will be ready. Click Here for an article to help support your child at home.
Math
Students in the traditional program will receive Wisconsin’s Common Core State Standards suitable for the appropriate age group. Because every child has the right to learn a rich, meaningful, and rigorous lesson, we are providing what’s essential for your child’s growth and development.

Programs
Toddler program (3-4year old’s)
At this age, your little one is ready to go deeper with exploring the world around them. They are more physically energetic and curious about their bodies. Our goal is to monitor their growth progress. During this stage of life, it’s important to pay attention to their emotional well-being. Catching early signs of physical or mental delay will help your child get the support they need in order to be ready for kindergarten. Some children may need one-on-one support until they develop specific skills required for their age. We allow children to be creative while exploring the differences around them. Each learning station is filled with unique ways to be creative. Come explore with us.
Prekindergarten (4-5year old’s)
At this stage of life, children should be physically active using their gross motor skills, running, jumping, kicking, and swinging with ease. They should be able to use complete sentences, grow their vocabulary, count to 10, and recognize sight words such as “STOP.” Your child will receive a pre/post assessment so that staff is able to monitor students' success. Our goal is to prepare them for kindergarten. We offer many learning techniques and we’ll be able to determine which one works for your child. Whether it’s traditional or Montessori, your prekindergarter will be ready.
Science Technology Engineering Art Mathematics (STEAM) (6-8th grade)
This program is geared toward our older students. However, preschoolers are welcome to explore our STEAM program. As a matter of fact, each station will represent our STEAM program. What does a science station look like? Very hands-on. Students can learn new and exciting things each day. Although each center is 15 minutes each, kids can enjoy hours of STEAM every day. Our technology station is complete with tablets and Chromebooks. Students can work independently or with a table partner. They are free to explore technology in a way that will develop their cognitive thinking, hands-on learning, and creative skills.
